The Germans had other ideas. Their company HQ were mounted in Panthers and launched a right flanking. I was able to knock out 1 of the 2 Panthers, but the other took out a troop of my tanks. My Rams ran back to the cover provided by a on their start line. A lone Sherman tried to take on the remaining panther and ended up barrel to barrel with the beast. The results were predictable. 1 shot. 1 burning Sherman.
On my right flank things were going better. My M10s, Squadron HQ, and the other troop of tanks managed to destroy a platoon of 5 Panzer IVs and another platoon of Stug IIIs, but not before my Squadron HQ, 2 x M10s, and 2 of my 3 remaining Sherman's were brewed up.
In the end, it was all down to motivation checks. I managed to squeeze out the victory by some lucky die rolling. A very tense game indeed!
I need to get use to how the Rams function, but was impressed with their ability to survive hits from the Stug III platoon. They also made an impressive display of advancing on the German dug in infantry and take their position with mg fire.
