Flames of War - British Armour Attacks German Stug Kompanie

The German defenders are pinned down by accurate artillery fire.
Not much of a battle report tonight. Just British versus Germans in a fun and close game.

British tanks advance to contact.

They pay dearly for the gains they have made.

Sqn Comd and 2iC discuss their next moves.

Typhoon Picture

I really like the picture I took of the typhoon swooping down on those panzers. Even has the shadow of the aircraft on the ground. Bet that shadow made some people shake in their boots.

Balin's Tomb - In Passing

While I was a playing tonight, I noticed a 28mm diorama of Balin's Tomb. I have to say the workmanship was excellent. Made me want to break out some Lord of the Rings figures and give it a go.

Flames of War - British Armoured Squadron with Air Support Versus Germans

Tonight's game saw my British Armoured Squadron face off against a German Panzer IV Gruppe.

We play on some pretty good terrain boards.
My Typhoon lays a beating on some Panzer IVs.

Shermans and Half Tracks brew up as the Germans advance on the British gun line.

Stuarts from the Recce Troop try to work their way around the German left flank.

4.5" Howitzer Battery - Battlefront Miniatures

I have been working on a 4.5" howitzer battery. Wanted to give it the option of being deployed with cam nets or not. So I got some brass tubing and wire to make mounting for the net that I made out of gauze. Here are some pictures. Still need to do the base terrain and flocking.

These a great little models. The limbers can be posed with doors open or closed.

Brass tubing provides anchor points for the cam netting poles.

While the cam looks big in the picture, it looks quite good on the table.

New Delivery in the Mail. - Pike & Shotte and To Kill a King Supplement

My miniature gaming interests are quite diverse.  Just got this in the mail. The box of cavalry was free with the main pike and shotte rules and a free personality figure came with the To Kill a King supplement. Highly motivated to do up my ECW figures now! This and Flames of War. I have my gaming mojo back!

Flames of War - British Armoured Squadron

Another night. Another battle. My forces included a hawker typhoon.

The enemy have ranged in on my dug in guns and us paratroops. The battle was close throughout and ended up in a draw. Yes, I know you can't have a draw in FOW, but we decided to call it a game.

Flames of War - British Late War Armoured Squadron Versus Germans

More Flames of War tonight. My British Armoured Squadron advances to contact. First game went to the Germans and left me with many burning wrecks. The second game went much better and was very close with me giving as good as I got. However, the Germans seized an objective and won the game.
